Anemone - Purple Tip Malu Anemone 5cm

Bubble Tip Anemones come in a variety of colors; mostly different shades of green. Rare red Bubble Tip Anemones are often called Rose Anemones. If you have never kept an anemone before, the Bubble Tip Anemone is your best choice. These beautiful anemones are much easier to keep than any other anemone we sell. Although all anemones can move around the aquarium, Bubble Tip Anemones seem to stay put much better than other anemones. They prefer to anchor their column, or foot, on the rock rather than the sand.

Behavior: The Bubble Tip Anemone will host a wide variety of clownfish including, Ocellaris, Percula, Maroon, and Gold Maroon Clownfish. Keeping the anemone with a clownfish will help it acclimate faster since the clownfish will feed it scraps of food.

Tip: Do not try to move the anemone once anchored because its column, or foot, can be easily torn. Most anemones will die from a torn column. Be prepared to move corals out of its way if it should choose to anchor too close to them.

Placement: Turn down the flow and place the Bubble Tip Anemone in a crevice in the rock. After it has attached you may increase the flow again. Try to minimize handling and support it by its slippery foot as much as possible. Leave 3"-5" between the anemone and nearby corals. Remember that it may or may not choose to stay where you place it. If it moves to a different spot be prepared to move corals out of its way. It will not sting and kill corals instantly but they should be moved away within 12-24 hours. If a Bubble Tip Anemone anchors where you don't want it to try adjusting the direction of flow in the aquarium to cause it to release and re-attach elsewhere.

Feeding: Feed the Bubble Tip Anemone large pieces of squid, prawn, and other meaty foods several times a week. Use a feeder stick and touch the piece of food against the Bubble Tip Anemone. Its sticky tentacles will grab onto the food. Be careful not to poke the anemone.

Lighting & Flow Requirements: The Bubble Tip Anemone requires moderate water flow and moderate to high lighting (PAR 220-350). T5's, Metal Halides, or LED's can all maintain Bubble Tip Anemones when the proper PAR levels are provided. We recommend a 14-20K color spectrum for best coloration.

All our corals are conditioned prior to sale and backed by our Arrive Alive Guarantee.

FAQ

WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP?

We ship orders out each Monday and Tuesday. Cut off time is Midnight the previous day. We may postpone shipments to the following week if we are advised by our shipping partner of delays or on public holidays. Information regarding tracking will be emailed once your order has shipped.

CAN I EXPECT THE CORAL I SEE ONLINE TO MATCH WHAT I RECEIVE IN MY ORDER?

Shopping for live coral for sale online can be a source of worry for reef hobbyists, who can never be entirely sure what will arrive in the mail. Will it resemble the coral they saw online? While there is no substitute for an in-person viewing of the coral, we offer What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) corals to alleviate concerns. Our WYSIWYG corals allow you to preview the actual coral fragment or colony before making a purchase. We take pride in photographing all our corals under Ecotech Radion G5 LED Light fixtures. We use professional-grade Full Frame DSLR cameras and lenses to capture the highest quality representation of the coral. We also provide multiple photos of the coral under different light spectrums, including full spectrum (white light) and heavy blue spectrum. We also offer size approximations for every coral in centimeters. This measurement is taken when the coral is fully expanded, providing you with a better understanding of the amount of space the coral will occupy in your aquarium.

Looking for the best place to buy corals online in Australia?

At Zeo Box Reef Aquaculture, we pride ourselves on a different approach compared to other aquarium stores in Australia. When we obtain corals, particularly those sourced from the wild, we recognise the stress caused by their extraction from their natural habitats. That's why we handle them with extra attention and care.

Initially, these corals are collected off the reef and kept aboard a vessel, where they remain for a period. During this time, there is a constant flow of seawater over the corals to maintain their well-being. Upon arrival at the collectors facility, they undergo meticulous inspection, cleaning, and, if necessary, resizing, as many of these corals are initially quite large.

After being purchased by retailers, the corals are boxed up and shipped to them. The retailers then transition these corals into their holding tanks for immediate sale. However, by the time these corals reach the customers' tanks, they've endured a significant journey and are typically stressed. That's where our careful process begins.

We take the time to observe the corals, checking for pests and allowing them to settle and adapt to captive conditions. Most importantly, we ensure they're well-fed. It takes about 2 to 4 weeks for us to see positive indicators like good feeding response, healthy polyp extension, vibrant coloration, and overall vitality. Only then do we make these corals available for sale on our site, allowing us to confidently offer our Arrive Alive Guarantee.

It's worth mentioning that we exclusively focus on corals and do not sell any fish, eliminating concerns about fish parasites when purchasing from us. This is what sets us apart – the Zeo Box Reef Difference! Unlike many other retailers who hurriedly advertise new stock upon arrival, we understand that rushing this process often results in a high death rate for the customer. Our commitment lies in ensuring the well-being of the corals and ultimately the success of your aquarium.

IN THE EVENT THAT MY CORALS ARRIVE DECEASED, WHAT IS THE COURSE OF ACTION?

To be eligible for our Arrive Alive Guarantee, it is necessary to send us well-defined pictures of the coral in its shipping container, within 2 hours of Star Track delivery time, via email at info@zeoboxreef.com.au.

For further information regarding the Arrive Alive Guarantee policy and claims process, kindly refer to our Arrive Alive Guarantee page.

HOW WILL MY ORDER BE PACKAGED?

Zeo Box Reef Aquaculture prides itself on being a leader in the industry for packaging and shipping corals. We have a meticulous approach to packaging methods to ensure that your order arrives in optimal condition. Our team carefully hand-picks and packs each order with great care. Coral fragments are placed in specially designed containers and secured using chemically inert foam floats. For larger corals, we use a double-bagging method and add activated carbon to achieve optimal water quality during shipping. To maintain the ideal temperature conditions during transit, we use thick-walled styrofoam boxes with heat/cold packs as needed. Our shipping options include door to door Star Track Premium freight or same day Airport-to-Airport delivery. Both options are fast and secure.

  • ARRIVE ALIVE GUARANTEE

We understand you may have concerns shipping your coral order to you. For your peace of mind, we guarantee all livestock will arrive alive. In the unlikely event of a DOA coral (Dead On Arrival).
